When putting together my presentation, my attempt was to address the different categories that go with digital natives. All digital natives are not made equal, though we tend to generalize them to make it easier to discuss the current generation. My presentation addresses these generalizations, but it also addresses the differences. I think it's important to know that the majority of this generation have at least a basic knowledge of computers and other technology. Typically, you can expect students to have a basic understanding. However, it's also important to know that some students might not have an extensive knowledge of computers or other technology. Some may also not have an interest in using technology or some technological tool, such as a video game.
Great presentation! I love the colors used and the fact that you tried to define what concepts of digital nativism relayed to those new to the concept- like myself. There were likes and differences of many terms used in our text and what they actually mean as well as if students are all on "the same page" when it comes to technology. Because as I personally learned in the reading, and in real life situations, not everyone has the same access to technology and therefore are not as digitally sound as others. It's just something that never really crossed my mind. I loved your brightness and the fact that it was a Prezi- always loved them! Overall- loved your display of digital natives.
ReplyDeleteWonderful job on your presentation! Your choice of music was great, it set the pace very well; it was relaxing without being too relaxing (meaning it didn’t make me want to take a nap!). I also really appreciated the fact that you began the presentation with defining what a digital native is, and did so using one image and one word.
ReplyDeleteI liked the color choices and font choice; they created a fun and contemporary feel without being difficult to read or distracting from the images, in fact your color choices complimented the images very well which I’m sure was your intention. Despite having an array of colors, they read very well since you paired them with a neutral background.
You also chose to use some very interesting images that packed a punch. I really liked the slide with the pencil erasers with drawings on them; they reminded me of emojis and did a great job in combining traditional and digital literacies together in my mind.
Great job, I really enjoyed your presentation!
